Tom Achs is a Detroit native who encapsulates the midwestern values of a strong work ethic and helping others. As Pivotal Growth Partner’s Director of Construction, Tom lays the groundwork for every construction project to be a success. From providing the planning and direction to quality assurance and design compliance, Tom is the go-to guy.

Just like they say in the infomercials, but wait – there’s more! Tom’s is also responsible for the budgeting, organization, implementation, and scheduling of the projects through the Architects and General Contractors hired to perform the work. He is the gatekeeper when it comes to ensuring all timelines are met and all expectations exceeded. With an innate ability to foster strong relationships across multiple disciplines, Tom knows how to get things done.

Tom leverages his years of experience to analyze the goals of every construction project to identify equally effective options that result in lower costs. In a previous role, while working on a warming initiative for Starbucks, Tom created new strategies for scope development, design drawings, permitting and construction that resulted in increased market penetration and through his value engineering process saved the company $1,000,000.   Tom also created a comprehensive bid review process that resulted in an average of $10,000 additional savings per project.

Prior to joining the PGP team, Tom put the above mentioned skills to work in the restaurant industry to help ambitious entrepreneurs and prestigious restaurateurs turn their visions into beautiful brick-and-mortar realities, making him a perfect fit for the needs of our clients and franchisees. Tom has collaborated with big name clients such as Dunkin’ Brands, Panera Bread, and Domino’s Pizza. But it wasn’t just his proven track record that won us over. Tom’s results-oriented, can do attitude is a source of optimism that aligns perfectly with our culture.

As committed as Tom is to his career, he is equally family-oriented. Much of his free time is spent with his wife and their two daughters. At work, Tom is all about quality control and at home, he’s all about quality time together. At the end of the day, he is a people person who conducts himself with a high level of professionalism. Tom is definitely pumped about working at PGP.
